1. What is Engage?
Engage is an easy-to-learn online tool for spiritual transformation that enables your people to answer two important life questions: “Where am I in my spiritual journey?” and “How can I move forward?”
Based on his or her responses to the Engage Survey, each participant receives a unique spiritual Portrait highlighting the characteristics of their love of God and love of others. From there, the Engage system delivers practical, next-steps recommendations for spiritual growth.
This process places ownership of the spiritual journey on the individual, encouraging people to commit to spiritual growth through scriptural and personal practices. Opportunities in your church are also filtered specifically to match individual needs and interests, helping them to connect with relevant events and group experiences they already care about.
Engage is accessible by anyone anywhere with Internet or Wi-Fi access through a computer and some smart phones.
2. Why did the WCA develop Engage?
The Willow Creek Association (WCA) believes the local church is the hope of the world, so we designed Engage to specifically support the core purpose of the local church found in Matthew 28: to make disciples.
The Engage Development Team shares a deep experience and background in theology, spiritual soul care and technology. We’ve worked diligently to harness the insights learned from The REVEAL™ Survey to create a system that offers personalized next-steps recommendations for measurable spiritual growth.

3. Is Engage for mature Christians only, or can anyone participate?
Engage works for explorers to the spiritually mature. Everyone interacting with Engage will be challenged with appropriate action steps and church community opportunities designed to move them forward in God from wherever they are now.
4. Can any church use Engage?
Yes, currently Engage can be licensed and configured to work with any church in the United States. Engage scales to fit your church’s needs, making it an affordable fit for virtually any size congregation, large or small.
In the future, we plan to provide Engage to churches in other countries and other languages.
5. Will Engage work with our Church Management System?
Engage has the capability to interface with the most popular Church Management Systems providers, including ARENA, CCB and F1. We are aggressively developing wider levels of integration.
6. How long does it take to implement Engage?
The process starts once your church has committed to license Engage. Most churches require between seven to 10 weeks to roll out the system to their congregation, but your church may choose a different pace. (Many pastors introduce Engage through a phased approach, launching it in small groups first, then to their entire congregation.)
An Engage team member will guide your church through the “Seven Steps to Engage” process and work with the designated leaders from your church during a kick-off meeting to determine the best timeline for your needs.

7. How do you determine where people are at spiritually?
The Engage Portrait™ draws from the insights learned during the WCA’s five-year-long research project: REVEAL™. The REVEAL™ Study included 350,000 in-depth responses from congregants in 1,500 churches across a wide variety of denominations. This in-depth database of knowledge is the engine of Engage that can help make positive, measurable changes in spiritual growth in anyone from explorers to the mature in Christ.

8. What makes Engage’s Bible Engagement Plan different?
Engage chooses scripture passages for each person based on the outcome of their survey results. Each reading is thematic, with a specific goal focused on one of five key perspectives: Theme Discovery, Bird’s-eye View, Memorization, Meditation and Listening. The system includes an integrated Notebook app to encourage people to journal as they engage the scriptures.
9. What is the cost of Engage?
Engage is a licensed product, with churches paying a one-time set up fee and an annual license fee to use the system. It is free for individuals to participate in Engage.

10. Will Engage be available on mobile devices?
Yes, users can enjoy a streamlined experience through a Web-optimized version of Engage on mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows 7 and certain Blackberry devices. Native iPhone and Android applications will be available soon.
